Ember Enchants¶
141 custom enchantments that look and feel like part of the game.
What makes it different¶
Enchants live on the item. Every enchant is stored in the item's own persistent data, so it survives restarts, backups, moving between worlds, and being put through an anvil. There is no database to lose and nothing to migrate.
Three ways to enchant, all in game. The /ember menu, the vanilla
enchanting table (which the plugin takes over, with custom offers beside the
vanilla ones), and an anvil with an enchant book. Bookshelves matter on the
table: more shelves, rarer offers.
Nothing needs a config file. Every enchant ships enabled with a sensible
level cap, rarity and success rate. enchantments.yml exists so you can tune
or switch any of them off - you never have to open it to get going.
It works with your other plugins. Enchants apply to any tool, weapon or armour the server has - copper, netherite, or whatever comes next - because item categories are read from the server's own material list rather than a hard-coded one. Ember Shop can sell any enchant as a book.
Installing¶
- Drop
EmberEnchants.jarintoplugins/. - Optionally install Vault and an economy if you want the enchant shop. Everything else works without it.
- Start the server.
On first start you will see:
[EmberEnchants] Registered 141 custom enchants (141 enabled).
[EmberEnchants] Hooked into Vault economy: VaultEconomy
That is a working plugin. Everything after this point is tuning.
The first five minutes¶
/ember the main menu: enchant, browse, shop
/ember browse every enchant, by what it goes on
/ember give hand out an enchant book (admin)
/ember reload re-read the configs (admin)
Or just use an enchanting table. Place an item, pick from the offers on the right, pay the XP.

/ember browse - every enchant, sorted by what it goes on. The tabs along
the top show how many each category holds.
