Lite and Premium¶
Two editions, one source tree. Lite is free and is a complete buy-it-now auction house. Premium adds the half of a market that most auction plugins do not have: bidding, buy orders, live prices, leaderboards, Discord, and one market shared across a whole network.

Lite is not Premium with features switched off
Lite is compiled without the Premium source, so those classes are physically absent from the free jar. Nothing in a config file will turn them on, and no menu in Lite exists only to tell you to buy something.

Moving from Lite to Premium¶
Swap the jar.
Both editions are built from one source tree and share a data folder, a config file and a listings file, so Premium reads what Lite wrote. Keys Premium adds that are not in your config fall back to their defaults. Listings already up stay up.
Going back the other way is where to be careful. Lite cannot run auctions or buy orders. A timed auction still open when you downgrade will appear in the hall, but nobody can bid on it - Lite will tell them it is a Premium feature - and it will sit there until it expires back to its seller. Let auctions finish before you swap down.
Which one you want¶
Take Lite if your server needs somewhere to sell things. It is a finished auction house and it costs nothing.
Take Premium if you want a market rather than a noticeboard: if you want players bidding against each other, buyers able to place orders, prices that come from your own economy, or one hall shared across a network.
Premium is sold on BuiltByBit: https://builtbybit.com/resources/ember-auctions-premium-version.124200/. Lite is free and reads the same files, so upgrading later loses nothing.
